Glaciers and icebergs - ten-million-ton blocks of glistening ice that roam around the sea - some deep blue signifying their age, tens of thousands of years since the snow fell to make them. Dolphins, humpback whales. Inuit villages of 20 people, no roads between settlements; seal hunting to feed the sled-huskies. 

A land of fire and ice: steam mixes with glaciers, waterfalls and volcanoes to offer an alien landscape, sometimes with suffocating gases but always with majestic mountains. 

200 miles inside the arctic circle, a place of edifying beauty with 2,000 metre mountains which climb straight out of the sea forming islands which have been connected by elegant bridges. This is an archipelago which pokes its nose into the gulf stream, meaning that it is much warmer in the winter than the rest of Norway.
